Ask Patrick bourke menswear about suit rental in Ennis, co Clare
Hi Patrick, My debs is coming up this summer and wondering what suit I should wear?
Hi Kieran, at this point in time you are coming to the peak of your life with the best years ahead of you and the occassion of buying your first suit (usually for your debs) is a major occassion. I say “buying” becasue it is now as cheap and better value to buy your suit shirt, tie and shoes for €199 than rent it for €85 and hand in a deposit that you will only wear once. So I think with a lot of debutantes now, they want to have a suit for the galway races and you will also have it for any college presentations you may have or future jobs interviews. Your debs is the time to look your best so I would say do a little research and see what colour or style you would like to wear. At this moment, its all about the three piece suit and the dickie bow! This is being fueled by the style of Conor McGregor and other celebrities. We all think its great to break away from the traditional tie and go for something a bit different. Its already proving extremely popular! If you don’t think you have the confidence to pull that off then a slim tie is very modern and stylish. The colours that are proving popular this summer is blue suits and navy blue suits. Just that bit different and nice and bright for the great summer weather we are having. Grey and charcoal are also good and particular look good on the younger man. Have a look at our Tailoring photos on our website and our Facebook but also feel free to pop into our shop in Ennis or Kilrush and we will show you our range of Debs suits!
Hi Patrick, what casual clothes could you recommend for a man in his late 30’s that is still trendy but not too young and silly looking?
Thank you for your question and this is so common with many men who get comfortable in what they wear and are reluctant to change. What would really upgrade his style that we have is a pair of coloured chinos, maybe beige, navy or burgundy. These are on trend and so popular at the moment. He would really leap up the style ladder without looking silly. Pair this with a nice pair of tan brogue shoes. We have nice Base real leather brogues in a boot or shoe in-store that are very fashionable. We have loads of nice shirts in all types of fits as well. So you could retire one or two of his older ones and invest in some nice new shirts. Fashionable shirts now have some really nice detail on the inside of the collar. So when he opens the top button, you can see some really nice contrast detail without it being too in your face. Or if your man has loads of shirts, what would upgrade his style no end, would be a nice new sports coat. We have some really nice check taper fit Remus Uomo sports coats which have a wide lapel for a real stylish look. If a check sports coat is too much for your man. We have some really nice navy Tommy Hilfiger sports coats which have some really nice detail touches to them. These are a real timeless sports coat which he would have for a life time. We would love you to come in to Patrick Bourke Menswear sometime with your man and we would more than happy to advise on some new stylish outfits but we will make sure you are happy and the fit is perfect.
Hi Patrick, my wedding is coming up and I want to look the best on the day, any ideas?
There are many different options for your wedding day but it is about picking the style that will compliment you the best. For taller men, you could choose to wear a morning suit which has a longer jacket which will flatter your height. For shorter men, shorter jackets elongate your body and make you look taller. If you want to have a modern look you could go for light grey or blue coloured suits which have been very popular for weddings in Ireland. Or if you want a more traditional look you could go for a nice navy or charcoal coloured suit. It is important to keep the shirt simple and elegant with a crisp white colour. A groom can either choose a cravat which will give the outfit a bit more volume or a simple tie to keep it classic. Call in store and we will let you try on a few different styles and see which one best suits you.
