Why most men buy the quilted one first

A quilted Barbour is the least likely jacket in the shop to sit in a wardrobe. It is light, it goes over a jumper without bulk, it packs into the back of a car, and it suits a school run, a sideline and a pub in the same afternoon. The trade-off is that quilting is shower-resistant rather than waterproof, and the stitch lines make cold spots — for a day standing out in it, a wax jacket or a waterproof serves you better.

The one we sell most of. Diamond quilting, corduroy collar, stud front, cut to sit at the hip and go over knitwear. It comes up true to size with layering room already built in, so there is no need to size up unless you are between two.
