When you need a black suit for a funeral, there's rarely much notice. Call into our Ennis or Kilrush store and we'll get you, or the whole family, into a well-fitting black suit quickly and without fuss. Our in-house tailors can alter trouser lengths while you wait.

Many men would rather have a dark suit in the wardrobe for next time. Our Remus Uomo Lucian (slim fit) and Palucci (tapered fit) suits in black and navy are kept in stock all year, in short, regular and long lengths. Our tailors can take up trousers in about 15 minutes, so you can leave wearing it. Browse our suits and call in to be fitted.

Suits for the whole family

We can dress sons, grandsons and pallbearers so they match on the day. Hire is in adult sizes; for younger boys we have boys' suits to buy. If you need several suits, phone ahead with the sizes or rough heights and builds, and we'll have everything ready to try on together.

What to wear to a funeral: men

  • Suit: black is traditional. Charcoal or dark navy is fine for most Irish funerals.
  • Shirt: plain white, or pale blue if white isn't practical.
  • Tie: plain black, or a dark, muted tie.
  • Shoes: black leather lace-ups, polished. Avoid brown and trainers.
  • Coat: a dark overcoat for the graveside in winter.
  • Keep it simple: nothing loud, no bright pocket squares, and minimal jewellery.

If the family has asked for something less formal, a dark jacket, dark trousers and a white shirt are still appropriate.

Can I get a suit the same day?
Yes, same-day hire is available. Call ahead with your size, or come in and we'll measure you. A bought suit can be altered while you wait.

Do I need an appointment?
No. Just call in during opening hours. Phoning ahead helps us have your size ready.

Do you have larger and longer sizes?
Yes, we stock extra long and larger sizes, and our tailors can adjust most suits to fit.

Out of hours service?
In emergency circumstances, we can accommodate people in their hour of need. phone us, email us, or message us on social media and we will pick it up.
