Barbour men's shirts — brushed cotton and flannel checks, oxfords and corduroy, cut for a regular fit and made to be worn under a jacket rather than tucked into a suit.

Which shirt. The brushed cotton and flannel checks are the ones that define the brand: soft, warm enough to wear alone in October, and heavy enough to work as a light overshirt over a tee. Oxfords are the plainer option and sit better under knitwear. Corduroy shirts are the most seasonal and the most characterful.

Fit. Barbour's shirts are cut with room through the chest, in keeping with the rest of the range. If you want a closer fit, size down; if you intend to wear it open over a t-shirt, stay with your usual size.
